An authoritarian Communist party of China’s 14th five-year plan which is a series of guidelines spelling out China’s economic and social priorities, seeks to exploit the hydro power potential of the lower reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo a trans boundary river that flows from Tibet into India, where it is known as Brahmaputra, and then into Bangladesh as the Jamuna. This hydro power plant if comes into reality, it would be termed as a riskiest mega infrastructure project due to the location prone to massive landslides and some of the most powerful earthquakes ever recorded, it’s also precariously close to the disputed border between India and China.
This canyon near Namcha Barwa at the great bend will have a potential to generate 60 gigawatts of power which will be more than three times that of three gorges dam. China says the project is a key part of its efforts to hit peak carbon emissions by 2035 and to become carbon neutral by 2060.
One of the biggest impacts this Chinese hydro power dam will have on a river’s ecology is that it will trap sediment that would otherwise will travel downstream. This dam will disrupt fish species, flow of water, will contribute to issues such as riverbank erosion, and loss of agricultural productivity and other issues community livelihoods downstream. China is signalling that it is looking to tackle climate change as a huge step forward for the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide, but this reason is nothing but Chinese Communist Party’s oldest act of diverting the attention of the world from real problem.
This canyon is an attempt by the Chinese Communist Party to weaponise the water against Indian territory as the downstream rivers in India are mostly rain fed so the threat is more from deliberate release of water from the dams into India rather than withholding it by China. In turn China willfully may want to blackmail Indian Government at water (read: gun) point to handover the control of whole northeast India to Chinese Communist Party by 2050. There is a strong possibility of this blackmail when we see a series of demography change in the Chicken’s neck (Siliguri Corridor) of Indian State of West Bengal. By 2050 Chinese Communist Party will deliberately make sure the demography change is continuous process in order to wickedly execute it’s long term plan of water war.
Republic of India may not be able to sustain this blackmail forever only by the help of militarized format of warfare and hence Indian Government may want to take suo motto actions in order to save the Northeast Territory and prevent another bifurcation of the land.
Indian Government must plan to build a massive dam better and larger than three gorges in the state of Arunachal Pradesh near India-China Border so that the Watery Weapon can be neutralized before it is fired.
Republic of India holds full and complete right to maintain it’s territorial integrity and water consumption and hence retaliation before the attack is suffered. Hence the Government of India has to take quickest possible decision to approve the dam in Arunachal Pradesh and start working on the project.
Jai Hind !!
